A high school student from Santa Barbara County is one of 22 being honored by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, and GE with their new GE Reagan Foundation Scholarships.
Nikoll Rodriguez of Santa Barbara was one of those selected from more than 5000 applications nationwide for one of the scholarships, which is up to $10,000 a year for four years.
GE is the primary sponsor of the Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration based at the Simi Valley Library, and contributed $5 million dollars to establish the ten year long national college sponsorship program. The late president had a long relationship with GE, serving as its spokesman during his acting days.
