Ojai’s newly revamped Libbey Bowl will be the scene of a tribute event on Saturday (7/14) for the man who oversaw its reconstruction, but died as it was set to host its first major festival after reopening. Architect David Bury died June 9th, from prostate cancer. Bury lived long enough to to see the finish of his efforts to refurbish the bowl, passing away on the morning of the first day of the Ojai Music Festival. He was a former Ojai City Planning Commissioner, and City Council member, and was active in a number of community projects. The event at 11 a.m. Saturday at the bowl will include tributes from community leaders, as well as music.
