Ventura Woman Arrested For Attack On Girl With A Caustic Chermical

Posted on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 10:49am

Ventura Police say they’ve arrested a woman on charges she attacked a 12-year-old neighbor with a can of insecticide, spraying her in the face.

Police say Jeanette Rohde went to her neighbor’s home on the 300 block of North Ventura Avenue around 6:30 Tuesday night, and began arguing with the girl, and her mother.  The victim told investigators the 52 year old woman called her some names, and left.  She returned a few minutes later, and began arguing with the mother again.  The investigators say when the teen returned to the door to see what was happening, Rohde sprayed her in the face with insecticide.  The girl suffered minor facial injuries, but no permanent damage.

Officers say Rohde fled the scene, and was found hiding behind some buildings several block away.  She was arrested for assault with a caustic chemical, and child endangerment.
