A man was struck, and killed while trying to run across the 101 Freeway near the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara late Saturday night.
The accident happened around 10:15 p.m. It triggered a series of minor traffic accidents, which closed the freeway for more than two hours. No one else was seriously injured.
The man has been identified as 22-year-old Ricardo Madrigal.
