Murder Suspected Wanted By San Diego Police Shot During Standoff In Ventura

A man wanted by authorities in San Diego County for murder was shot as he tried to flee a home in Ventura County.  National City police received information that 29-year-old Jesus Farias was at a home on the 200 block of Pomo Street, in Ventura.

Officers from both agencies, and a SWAT team surrounded the home just before five Wednesday morning, but they say Farias tried to escape.  He was shot once in the side, but is expected to recover.  No one else was hurt. There’s no word on whether he was armed at the time.

National City police say Farias is a suspect in the murder of a man which occured in that community near San Diego on Monday.
