Arrests Made In Connection With Thefts From Hikers

Posted on Friday, June 24, 2011 12:36am

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies say they’ve made two unrelated arrests in connection with a string of burglaries targeting the vehicles of people using hiking trails in the Conejo Valley.

On Tuesday night, someone saw some suspicious teens in the vicinity of a vehicle which had been burglarized in Warwick Avenue. Deputies caught a 14 year old teen who was found to be in possession of items from two break-ins.  A second teen escaped from the scene.

Then, on Wednesday night, some Wildwood Park visitors saw someone break into a vehicle, and that information led to the arrest of 20-year-old Nicholas Paulsen, of Thousand Oaks.
