Southern California Man Arrested For Mortgage Fraud in Ventura County

Posted on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 3:43pm

Prosecutors say a Bellflower man promised to help a number of  Ventura County homeowners having mortgage problems, but instead collected thousands in upfront fees, and did nothing to help his victims.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Real Estate Fraud Unit says Lino Hernandez operated a home foreclosure rescue program called “Terra Bella Management”, which mostly targeted people who only spoke Spanish.

Hernandez is facing two counts of foreclosure consultant fraud.  Investigators say if convicted of the charges, the 46 year old man could face more than three years in state prison.
