Ventura County, and the City of Santa Paula are at odds over a temporary gun range set up on private property for the Santa Paula Police Department. The city approved the use of a piece of private property in the county’s jurisdiction last year for the range, but a Ventura County Grand Jury report says there’s no evidence the city reviewed the site for its appropriateness. The County has issued notices of violations over the gun range, and the Grand Jury is calling for suspension of use of the site as a range until the controversy is resolved.
