A gang task force in Ventura County has made ten arrests in connection with a series of shootings, and what’s being called a hate crime attack. Sheriff’s deputies say they discovered a series of unreported shootings in March in the Saticoy area. Then, later in March, they broke up a fight at Solimar Beach, and discovered a group of gang members had attacked an African-American man at the beach, stabbing him. The Sheriff’s Department formed a special gang task force to investigate the string of incidents, leading to the arrests of eight adults, and two teens from the Santa Paula, Fillmore, and Ventura areas. Charges range from attempted murder, to weapons possession.
