Identity Theft Ring Busted In Ventura County

An investigation into some suspicious activity at a Newbury Park motel led to the discovery of what authorities say was an identity theft, and large scale fradulent check operation. Ventura County Sheriff’s Department detectives, and the U.S. Secret Service took part in a joint operation which led to the seizure of counterfeit government documents, supplies for phony checks, and other evidence.  Bryce Tubb of Newbury Park, Dyral Smith of Los Angeles, Marina Elizalde of Pomona, and Paul Gonzales, Junior of Pomona were arrested on multiple felony charges, with some members of the group also wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for other crimes.
