Ventura County Supervisor Kathy Long Announces Re-Election Bid

Posted on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 1:59pm

Ventura County Supervisor Kathy Long says she’ll seek a fifth term in office.  The current Third District Supervisor says with the challenges the county is facing because of funding cuts, her experience can help keep the County financially healthy.  Long has been endorsed by County Sheriff Geoff Dean, and the Ventura County Professional Firefighter’s Association.  So far, no one has formally announced plans to challenge Long, who’s held the seat since 1997.  The other two incumbents up for re-election in 2012, Supervisor Steve Bennett, and Supervisor John Zaragoza, have already announced their intentions to see re-election. Long’s district includes Camarillo, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, Fillmore, and part of Oxnard.
