KCLU was the winner of three Mark Twain Awards at the 2011 APTRA Awards ceremony, held Saturday, June 4 at Disneyland Resort.
The awards, in the Class 2 Radio division, included recognition for News Director Lance Orozco’s coverage of Spot News, for the story “The Deadly Drive” and Best Sports Reporting for his feature on the Santa Paula-Fillmore football rivalry, in “It’s More Than A Game.”
KCLU’s coverage of a lab explosion in Simi Valley also earned an award for Best Coverage of an Ongoing Story.
