Ventura County’s high fire season opened 6/2/11, and Santa Barbara County is set to make the same declaration on 6/6/11. Ventura County fire officials say state, and local budget cuts will affect the amount of outside resources to help with a major brushfire in the county, and around the state. And…KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports that because of a combination of wind, and rainfall patterns, the brushfire threat right now is actually what we would normally see in July, or August.
