Former Santa Barbara County Supervisor Curtis Tunnell has died at the age of 101. Tunnell was a Santa Maria businessman who served as a Santa Maria City Councilman for more than a decade in the 1950′s and early 1960′s, before serving as the county’s Fith District Supervisor from 1963 to 1975. He was considered a key force in the growth of Santa Maria over the decades.
